twenty three. twenty four.

(if you can't read my cursive...He is...a dance machine, hearing what I hear, filling out with fat and developing his lungs.)

(both these shirts make me look smaller than real life. lol)

two week update:

How far along? This was week 23 and 24. He is now about the size of an eggplant/ear of corn/cantaloupe, according to my apps. My uterus is the size of a soccer ball... (no wonder, it's pushing all my organs up and poking this belly out!) The protein I am eating is helping his brain develop rapidly. He has hair color now! My guess is going to be dark- maybe not as dark as mine, but it'll be brown. Jared was a "toe-head" when he was little.
Clothes: Comfy and roomy!
Purchases: I scored a dresser for his nursery. I knew I wanted a dark wood crib. So I like how this dresser will match but not too much! Someone painted the dresser with chalk paint (duck blue) and stained the top in walnut! I love it. I will just put a changing pad on top, instead of having a separate changing table.

Body: When I have been checking (not regularly), my blood pressure has been better! Good News!
I've also been having left side, rib pain up near the breastbone- especially after I eat. The doctor told me to keep track of what I'm eating, when it begins and how long it lasts. I feel like it's with EVERYTHING! I have been having some acid reflux, so I don't know if it's that- or if it's because my uterus is ginormous! lol. I also had belly button pain today! I was sitting in one of the chairs at the kid's table, getting stuff ready for my lesson next week, and I felt soreness in my belly button. He has been kicking me more lately right around that area. At one point, I could barely touch my shirt, and the shirt touching my belly button caused a horrific stinging pain!
Sleep: Doing good. I've been trying to be in bed between 9-10. (Old Lady.. I know!)
Best moments of the week: Although he's kicking my belly button, I love the kicks, flutters and movement!
Looking forward to... my next appointment is in 2 weeks! What I'm not looking forward to? My glucose test that is 2 weeks after that!
I miss: caffeinated coffee...STILL. Today, although I got 8 hours of sleep, I felt so tired!

Week twenty two

Baby Bartlam has reached a milestone this week....He is now a one pounder!! He is sleeping about 12-14 hours a day, and is usually up when I am trying to wind down....of course! Is this an indication of our future? All of you moms out there are probably laughing! He is gaining more fat! For those of you that don't know... Jared was 9.1 lbs and although I was only 7 lbs at birth, I was a chubby baby afterwards, so he's only destined to be a little chunky monkey! But those are always the best, aren't they? He is also touching anything he can- his face, umbilical cord, etc. Some of you may know that Jared's passion is soccer and I think he is already taking after his daddy because he sure is kicking my bladder like a soccer ball! Last night, I also think I felt his first hiccups! I pulled up the kick counter on my BabyCenter app and felt 10 bumps within 1 minute! It seemed like it was spaced out evenly as well. Some things I have been feeling this week: back aches, trouble getting comfortable at night, baby hairs sticking out of my head, out of breath when mildly exercising (walking), and a hard time getting back up when crouched on the floor.
I'm so excited! I found the (cheaper) bedding that I wanted on sale! I went ahead and ordered it and it'll probably be here on Friday. :)

We started school back this week after a two week holiday. It sure was hard to get up Monday morning! Today and tomorrow, I will be at training in Savannah, so hopefully the kids aren't too wild on their second and third day back....even with a full moon! I also have my doctor's appointment tomorrow. Praying that my blood pressure is better and my ultrasound will show a more accurate measurement for him. I will also see the dreaded scale! I will give an update on Wednesday and probably a new ultrasound picture! YAYE!

21 weeks

At 21 weeks, baby Bartlam is about the size of a carrot from head to toe.... approximately 10.5 inches long and 12.7 ounces. Don't mind my appearance. This was a teacher workday, so no need to get fancy! After this weekend, it's back to the grind. I felt like the first week of Christmas break I popped, but now it seems like it went back down lol. I'm past the halfway point, it's so hard to believe! He's been kicking like crazy, but of course, when I'm laying down!

I did a "little" online yard sale shopping this week.... hehe. It's so hard to pass up when it's $0.50-$1, some were free!
This is the pile before I washed it....

For now...Hubby's night stand is filled with clothes...

....and these are some of the clothes that wouldn't fit!!

My new kicks! I got them on sale at the NB outlet! Help me to keep this baby healthy!

Glider I found for $50! Looks brand new! I can't wait to rock baby to sleep!

This week was also the end of 2014! I know we all say this every year...but where did the time go?? I feel like it wasn't that long ago when we started the year! A few things that I am thankful for in 2014: Hubby found a new job, celebrating 5 years of marriage and all the mushy gushy stuff with Baby Bartlam! Some things I want to work on in the new year: being healthier, being more thoughtful and prayerful, declutter/organize/clean more efficiently, getting stuff accomplished before our bundle of joy arrives, date nights, trying new things....etc.
Hope everyone had a Happy New Year! 2015 is going to be the best one yet!
